Nanowar of Steel (estilizado como NanowaR of Steel pela banda) é uma banda italiana de heavy metal cômico . Seu nome é um trocadilho com as bandas de metal Manowar e Rhapsody of Fire , e representa sua tendência a satirizar o "true metal", o foco principal de sua música. Seu trabalho visa principalmente fazer referências humorísticas e piadas sobre o gênero, frequentemente parodiando a maneira como as bandas de power metal são vistas como se levando muito a sério.

Em 2006, a banda mudou seu nome de Nanowar para Nanowar of Steel , como uma paródia da banda italiana de power metal Rhapsody, que mudou seu nome para Rhapsody of Fire após uma disputa legal. Em seu logotipo, a parte "of Steel" foi feita para parecer que foi rabiscada de forma rápida e descuidada atrás do nome principal como uma reflexão tardia.
